Point 3

Positive

Cigarette butts are found on public beaches, parks, playgrounds and sidewalks and contribute a large amount to the total litter found in such places. Therefore, if these public places had a smoking ban appointed to them, then it would significantly decrease the amount of litter found in these places.

Point 2

Positive

Smoking should be banned in public places, but especially around schools. This is because, younger people are more perceptive to being influenced by other people. Therefore, if it is illegal to smoke near or around schools, then children/young adults are less likely to start smoking at a young age as it will be less visible to them.

Positive

Smoking should be banned in public places because people who don't smoke are affected just as much as those who are lighting up. There are over 4,000 harmful chemicals in tobacco, at least 50 of these chemicals are known to be carcinogens which cause cancer in humans.
